Galacio reigns in Datba event

WILLIAM Galacio emerged champion in the Datba July monthly finals Tournament at the NCCC Mall B3 Lanes on Saturday night.

Galacio, who gained the twice-to-beat advantage for topping the eight-game elimination with 1,686, beat challenger Paquito Santos in the step-the-ladder finals.

Santos settled for the runner-up honors instead while Rene Zabat was third and Marc Fernandez fourth in the tournament organized by the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association.

Santos, second after the elimination, earlier defeated No. 3 Zabat, who demolished No. 4 Fernandez.

Santos garnered 1,657 pinfalls while Zabat scored 1,614 and Fernandez with 1,587 at the end of eliminations.

Santos also won the highest single with 266 while Paul Nobe amassed 257 for the highest single during the qualifying round.

In the weekly qualifying, Melanie Kuwahara and Joe Daigdigan made identical 835 pinfalls after four games to take the first two spots.

Datba president Virgilio "Billy" Magdale struck for 805 pinfalls for third while youth bowler Ray Snyder finished fourth with 795. (MLSA)
