Police chief vows strong ties with government units

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Barely two days after Chief Supt. Allan Purisima assumed the position as Central Luzon director, he has joined the Pampanga Mayors’ League and Governor Lilia “Nanay Baby" Pineda in an informal meeting held here Thursday.

Purisima has assured the local elected officials that the leadership of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Central Luzon that he will maintain a strong partnership with various local government units to ensure the safety of the people.

“Sana magtulungan po tayo sa pagpapanatili ng katahimikan sa ating mga nasasakupan. Kami naman po naririto lang para maging katuwang ninyo sa lahat ng pagkakataon,” Purisima said.

The police chief disclosed there will be frequent visits to local police stations to make sure that members of the police force are doing their duties diligently.

Purisima told the mayors that he will continuously practice the principle of “management by wondering.”

He said this will make PNP more effective particularly in maintaining peace and order.

“Nakatakda po nating bisitahin ang iba’t ibang presinto sa ating lalawigan upang matiyak na nagagampanan ng maayos ng ating kapulisan ang kanilang katungkulan. May ibang pulis kasi na pumapasok lang sa estasyon pero hindi naman talaga pinagsisilbihan ang ating mga kababayan,” he said.

Purisima is a graduate of the PMA class 1981 and was detailed with the Anti- Kidnapping Task Force in Camp Crame.
