British national wounded in Zamboanga bombing (8:41 a.m.)

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Dr. Rodel Agbulos, city health officer, said Friday that one of the victims who were wounded in the bombing at the Zamboanga International Airport is a British national.

The British national is identified as Charles Nackerchar, 69, who is staying in the village of Boalan, eight kilometers east of this city.

Agbulos said Nackerchar's condition is now stable after the latter has undergone surgery at Ciudad Medical de Zamboanga, one of the private hospitals in this city.

Nacherchar is married to a ZamboangueƱa.

Nackerchar was among the passengers who were coming out of the airport terminal's arrival area after they disembarked from a commercial plane that arrived from Manila.

The bomb explosion took place around 6:15 p.m. Thursday outside the terminal area that killed two people, including one who was the suspected bomber, and wounded 24 others.

The other injured victim is Sulu Governor Abdusakur Tan, who believed he was the target of the bomb attack. (Bong Garcia)
