THE Mayor Inday Sara Duterte Kadayawan Sports Festival Age-Group Tennis Championships will get underway on August 14-16 at the Ecoland Phase 4 Tennis Club.
Juanito "Titong" Cansino Jr., Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) regional vice president for Mindanao, said the three-day tournament is a Group 3 event.
"It will have regular categories including the 10 years old and under unisex, boys and girls 12-under, 14-under, 16-under and 18-under," Cansino said.
He said category champions will each pocket P1,500 and a medal, while the runners-up will receive P1,000 each and a medal.
Interested players may sign up at Eco-4 Club Canteen or text entries at mobile number (0908) 743-2405, according to Cansino. They may also contact Philta Regional Office at (082) 304-4709 or at any Racquet Sports Shop branch.
The tournament, which is free of registration, is presented by Mayor Sara Duterte through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office and hosted by Eco 4 Tennis Club president Col. Fausto "Toto" Laingo. Slazenger Wimbledon is the official ball.
The deadline of submission of entries is on August 11.
