Ched okays Clark aircraft course

CLARK FREEPORT -- Commission on Higher Education (Ched) recently granted a provisional government permit for Clark Polytechnic Development Foundation (CDFI) to operate the first year level of the Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Maintenance.

CDFI's permit takes effect on School Year 2010-2011 and will greatly enhance the institution's capabilities to provide quality and affordable education for students in the Metro Clark area. CDFI has also applied for permits for higher year levels.

The permit is contained in a resolution adapted by the commission en banc. A certification is expected to be issued by the Ched's regional office.

Clark Polytechnic has offered various vocational and technical training courses since its opening in 2002. Among these is the Basic Metal Technology (BMT) where the majority of graduates included members of the Indigenous People who have since enjoyed gainful employment overseas.

CDC has also announced that Pepito Galang, CDC vice president for corporate services, has been appointed as officer-in-charge of CPDF.

CDFI's premises are also home to the Prosthesis Laboratory put up by the CDC in cooperation with the Kapampangan Development Foundation. It is also home to the training school of the Bureau of Immigration (BI). (NGT)
