Kadayawan Run hits the road Sunday

SOME 4,200 participants will answer the starting gun as the much-awaited Kadayawan Festival Run hits the road in an out-and-back course from Roxas Avenue Sunday.

Organizer Kenneth Sai of Vantage Sports Promotions, in a text message to Sun.Star Davao Saturday, said Second District councilor Al Ryan Alejandre will represent Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio during the opening rites.

He also said the turnout of entries exceeded their expectations.

Joselito Dugos and Monalisa Ambasa are heavy favorites in the centerpiece 21 kilometer men's and women's open events, respectively.

"The footrace offers a total of P75,000 worth of cash prizes and gift certificates to the winners. The rest of the categories are: 3K kiddies run for 12 years old and below, 5K fun run and 10K run," he added.

The event is supported by Adidas, Motolite, C2 Green Tea and Gaisano Mall of Davao. (MLSA)
