Cayading: Call for nominations!

THE 36th Philippine Business Conference and Expo is scheduled on October 13-15, 2010, at Manila Hotel. The organizer of this annual event is the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The PBC & E is the prime venue for government and private sector leaders to dialogue on key policy issues concerning business and the economy. This year’s conference theme “ONE. GLOBAL. FILIPINO: Creating Synergy for Competitiveness” highlights the government and private sector’s partnership and unified agenda as the winning formula for competitive business, higher growth and sustained economic development.

This yearly event will also highlight activities in search of various awards which the PCCI is now on the process of accepting Nominations such as the following:

* 2010 Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit (LGU) Awards. This award seeks to recognize and promote models of governance of municipalities, cities, and provinces that have demonstrated outstanding efforts in instituting reforms to promote trade and investments; ensure accountability, transparency and efficiency in the conduct of day-to-day operations; and further competitiveness that will improve the quality of life of the LGU constituents.

* The Most Outstanding Chamber Award is meant to inspire Local Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCIs) in the pursuit of the Chamber of Commerce’s mission to be the premier voice of the Philippine business and to provide services to the business community undertaking activities to promote commerce, trade and investment.

* E3 Award 2010 – Excellence in Ecology and Economy Award seeks to recognize companies/enterprises that have demonstrated the most innovative and outstanding environmental performance. It recognizes companies who have shown that improving environmental performance translates to improvement in business performance or business gains and business sustainability. The award will highlight the concrete actions taken by the company and raise awareness of these innovative and outstanding environmental practices which shall serve as an inspiration for others to follow or to replicate.

* Alfredo M. Yao Intellectual Property Awards (A.M.Y. IP Awards). The awards seek to recognize and reward Filipino-owned intellectual property rights 9IPR) owners of patents, utility models, industrial designs (and trademarks) which have contributed or have potential to contribute to economic growth and development.

* 4th BIDA 2010 Awards – Business Idea and Development Award. This award is an initiative of the PCCI-Education Committee in cooperation with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), DOST, TESDA, Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business (PCDEB) and Phil. Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC). The objective of this ward is to recognize creative and innovative products or services using available local, indigenous and recycled materials; develop entrepreneurial culture and a sense of nationalism among Filipino youth, and promote entrepreneurship as major component in our Economic Sustainable Development (ESD).

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Baguio-Benguet Chapter sent invitations to various sector particularly those who are local chapter members and other identified entrepreneurs. We are likewise extending this invitation to all interested companies, cooperatives, inventors, various schools and universities and entrepreneurs to join.

* The PCCI-BBC invites all members to join the 19th North Luzon Area Business Conference (NLABC) scheduled this week on August 12-14, 2010 hosted by PCCI-Cagayan Chapter at the Crown Pavilion and Brickstone Mall, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

* The Department of Trade and Industry will conduct the “Orientation Seminar on the 2010 Investment Priorities Plan” on August 13, 2010 at the Leisure Coast Resort, Dagupan City.
