Pusod, Orteza bag crowns in SBC tilt

VIC Pusod and Emie Orteza captured titles in the SBC Bowler of the Week Tournament at the Fairlanes Bowling Center Sunday night.

Pusod hit a total of 245 pinfalls after two games to beat Jojo Sta. Maria (240) and Mel Bojo (238) for the class A crown.

Orteza, president of the Sunday Bowlers Club (SBC), rolled 232 pins to rule class B while Rene Dalayon and Boy Detuya placed second and third, respectively. Dalayon scored 223 while Detuya made 212 pinfalls.

In class C, Migs Morales emerged champion by garnering 217 pinfalls over Rey Paloso's 211 and Bong Villamor's 207.

The ladies title went to May Belarmino who bested her rivals Neneng Clearly and Jade Toribio. Belarmino struck for 213 while Clearly amassed 209 and Toribio with 207.

The class champions received cash prizes and booked slots to the monthly championships that stakes bigger cash prizes and trophies.

Orteza, meanwhile, said the C 25th Kadayawan sa Davao Open Bowling Tournament will roll off on Thursday. (MLSA)
