Silverado, Sharp, NEMA, St. Jo rule bowling tourney

SILVERADO 1/ASSFBI and Sharp Blue Diamond brought home the title in the 2nd Tops Invitational Open Trio, even as St. Joseph/NEMA and St. Jo Alumni Association reigned supreme in the 5th Inter-School Alumni Bowling Tournament at the New Top's Millenium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

In the non-winning entries, Davies ll of Edgar Jerez and Rommel Jover; Domingo Lacson National High School headed by Rowena Juarez as the winners.

The Silverado Team composed of Cecil Ramon Silverio, Edgar Allan Del Rosario, Norman Pineda, Ronald Fernandez, and Nonoy Gatila subdued the hardfighting Davies l of Edgar Jerez in the championships, 345-339 to bring home the bacon in bracket A.

Jerez' group earned the trip to the finals after defeating Sharp l in the semifinal round.

The Irne "Pretty Boy" Diaz Sharp B.D. Team bagged the crown in the other bracket by outclassing the twice-to-beat Silverado ll in the final countdown, 342-334.

Sharp took the opportunity to challenge the top seed by thrashing Mulo Aircon in their semifinal match.

Carrying the color of the champion squad were Rey "Spitfire" Bala-an, Edgar De Leon, Ricky Zamora and Cano Gaudite.

Second runners-up in two brackets were Sharp l and Mulo Aircon, while ESD Elect-ronz. ASSFBI and NPBC RJ Stars were third.

In the Inter-School competition, St. Jo/NEMA headed by Nereo Regollo win the crown in the other division, 412-400.

The members of the winning teams were Leyes, Rommel Agupitan, Stella Ongsingco, Suzette Morales, Boy Wingpo, Art Palo, Jun Lozada, Kris Robles and Amy Leyes (A); Roming Dellomes, Romulo Ramos, Daniel Corcelles, Joemil Villarosa, Ginalou Buyco, Janet Villarosa, Bebe Martir and Mae Memoracion (B).

NOHS Ismerc and CPU/UNO-R Combined placed second runner-up.

The individual awardees were Nellie Rendon (UNO-R) and Art Palo (SJHS-LS/NEMA) in highest pinning with 96 and 94; Suzette Morales (SJHS/NEMA) in highest single with 147, Precy Pillo (CSA-B/UP) in triple with 363, while Roming Dellomes (SJHS-LS/NEMA) in single and triple with 154 and 405 in the men's division.

SJHS-LS/NEMA and SJHS-LS Alumni Association took the team's highest single and triple at 474 and 1,379 pinfalls respectively.

In the 2nd Tops Invitational Open Trio, Cesar Sumaylo (ESD Electronz/ASSFBI) was the highest pinning record hold-erwith 98, while Orly Guiljon (Silverado lll) and Nonoy Gatila (Silverado l) in highest single with 161 and 399 respectively.

Blue Diamond/Sharp and Silverado ll were the team's highest single and triple markers with 402 and 1,116 pinfalls. (PR)
