School expands World Bank-assisted program in Antique

CENTRAL Philippine University (CPU) President Teodoro Robles led the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the establishment of the 3rd Knowledge for Development Center (KDC) nook at the Antique National School (ANS).

The KDC project is funded by the World Bank (WB) as an information center and hub for dialogues, and as a sharing a partnership for development between CPU and WB.

The expansion agreement between CPU and ANS focuses on educational materials, books and audiovisual materials from the CPU KDC for the Antique school library.

According to CPU, the KDC nook in ANS is open Monday to Friday. It will promote research about development issues and the World Bank; learning from the community through dialogues, forums, consultations; and building partnerships with government, private sector, academe, youth and civil society. The ANS KDC nook focuses on areas of environment and education.

Knowledge-sharing sessions hosted by the CPU KDC focus on the areas of good governance, community health, environmental management, sustainable agriculture, and youth education.

Present during the signing, aside from Robles, were WB public information associate Moira Enerva, Department of Education Antique Schools Division Assistant Superintendent Victor de Gracia, ANS OIC Teodor M. Marzona, and Mayor Rony Molina of San Jose, Antique. (LCP)
