THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) is urging the Congress to release its decision if they will pursue the village and youth elections on October this year.
Comelec commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal said that unless the Congress is not telling them to stop the preparation for the polls, the preparation will continue.
On Wednesday, President Benigno Aquino presented his stand on the matter saying the village election should push through this October 25.
Comelec commissioner Rene Sarmiento said in Bombo Radyo that the President's statement is a welcome development.
Sarmiento hopes the lawmakers will heed the President's stand as a party leader.
On Monday, the poll body together with members of the Congress will hold a meeting regarding the matter. (Sunnex)
