Murder suspect falls

A 46-YEAR-OLD suspect facing frustrated murder charges fell to the hands of the San Carlos City Police Tuesday morning.

Superintendent Harold Tuzon, San Carlos City PNP chief, identified the suspect as Edgardo Alota, 46, of Barrio Dos, Barangay Guadalupe, San Carlos.

The suspect was apprehended at his residence by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Danilo Amisola of RTC Branch 57-San Carlos City who fixed the suspect's bail at P200,000.

The suspect is presently detained at the lock-up cell of San Carlos City PNP for failure to post his bail.

On the other hand, a 19-year-old student was also collared Tuesday afternoon for the stabbing and wounding of a teenager in Murcia.

Murcia PNP chief Senior Inspector Norberto Barniso identified the suspect as Glen Mark Oquindo, a student of Murcia National High School who was tagged in stabbing of Edgardo Reyes, 18, of Alegria National High School along Rizal Street in Barangay Zone 3, Murcia.

The victim was brought to the Murcia Rural Health Unit for immediate treatment while Oquindo is presently detained at the local police station's lock-up cell prior to the filing of charges.

Barniso said Oquindo was nabbed by a team of Murcia PNP led by SPO1 Alex Mendoza.

Negros Occidental police Director Manuel Felix lauded Barniso and his men for their swift response that led to the apprehension of the suspect.
