Robber nabbed

A 17-YEAR-OLD minor who is notorious for his involvement in robbery hold-up and snatching cases in Bacolod was nabbed Tuesday evening by elements of Police Station 4 led by Chief Inspector Danilo Francisco.

The suspect is a resident of Purok Tisa, Barangay 20, Bacolod City and was nabbed at Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Villamonte in follow-up operations conducted by a PS4 team led by Deputy Police Inspector Charles Gever after a theft complaint was filed in said station by Renalyn Jimenez, 22, of Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Villamonte.

Jimenez stated that, at around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, while she was walking going home along Maya-Uno de Mayo Streets, Barangay Villamonte, the suspect grabbed her gold necklace worth P8,000 and immediately fled on board a waiting motorcycle with his two unidentified companions.

Gever said they also recovered a kitchen knife from the suspect.

The suspect, together with his two unidentified companions riding in tandem in a motorcycle, is responsible for several robbery hold-up and snatching cases in the area of Purok Bayanihan and Hervias, added Gever.

Gever urged those who were victimized by robbery hold-up and snatching incidents in the area of Police Station 4 to visit the station and identify if the said suspect was involved.

The police had already filed Wednesday before the Office of City Prosecutor the charges for robbery and snatching against the suspect.

Gever said that, as of July-August 11, 2010, PS4 policemen have arrested five notorious suspects who used to operate in their area of responsibility.
