Euraoba an ‘outstanding policeman’

POLICE Officer 3 Edilberto Euraoba III, designated information officer of Philippine National Police in Negros Oriental, is set to receive an award as an outstanding policeman of the country.

Jenny Tilos, of the Philippine Information Agency, told Sun.Star that in winning the search, PO3 Euraoba joined the elite roster of outstanding policemen of the country honored by Metrobank Foundation, the Rotary Club of New Manila East, and PSBank.

"Each of them will receive a trophy and a cash prize of P250,000," she said adding, "President Benigno Aquino III will confer the awards to him."

Aside from Euraoba, other policemen from the different parts of the country will also receive the awards in Malacañang on August 31, 2010.

In a separate interview, Euraoba told Sun.Star that he is not expecting any award but he expects to work more to serve the community.

The Metrobank Foundation congratulated the people of Sibulan for producing a winner to the 2010 ‘The Metrobank Foundation Search for Country's Outstanding Policemen in Service (Cops).’

Cops is an annual search that pays tribute to outstanding men and women of the Philippine National Police, who exemplified excellence in solving and preventing crimes in their community.

This year, the Final Board of Judges co-chaired by Supreme Court Associate Justice Mariano Del Castillo and Department of Justice Secretary Leila De Lima, chose Euraoba as one of the winners in the Police Non Commissioned Officers Category.

Euraoba is currently assigned at the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office at Camp Francisco C. Fernandez, Jr., Agan-an, Sibulan. (Victor L. Camion)
