Congress to send reps to Hong Kong over Singson's case (9:24 a.m.)

THE Congress will send two representatives to Hong Kong to monitor the situation of jailed Ilocos Sur first district Representative Ronald Singson, a radio report said.

A lawyer and a lawmaker will be sent to Hong Kong before the initial hearing of Singson's case on August 19.

The Congress has still no stand if they will remove Singson as member of the 15th Congress because they have to wait the decision of the court in Hong Kong.

Singson, son of Ilocos Sur Governor Luis Singson, was arrested at the Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok International Airport on July 11 for possession of 26.1 grams of cocaine and two tablets of valium. (Sunnex0
