THE obsession continues, running on five years now. The year 2006 marked the debut of “Make Your Own Havaianas” (MYOH) and that is where the love affair, with stylish flair, began with these buttery soft soles.

As each year passed, lines became longer, stacks of flip-flops became higher and more and more creative juices flowed. Each year, the embellishments are prettier, the glitter brighter and are more colorful. Creative pressure has not deterred the thousands of people who are obsessed with MYOH. They wallow in it, in fact, and revel in the magnificence of creating a pair, or two, or more, inspired by their imaginative minds.

True blue Havaianaticos, those unabashedly obsessed with these comfy and stylish flip-flops, trooped to the fashion event anticipated by all fashionistas and stylistas.

On its fifth year of offering Filipinos the chance to add personalized color and style to their soles, Havaianas, the first flip flop brand to offer pair customization in the country, held its fifth annual MYOH event at SM City Cebu Northwing Atrium from July 30 to Aug. 2. In honor of this landmark anniversary, Havaianas made this fashion event bigger, better and brighter than ever.

New options were made available—from silver letter pins and crystal studded pins to jelly, fluorescent and glow-in-the-dark Top straps and Philippine-designed MYOH commemorative sole and pin as mementos of this historic event.

What will next year’s MYOH bring us? One can only guess but, for sure, avaianaticos’ soles are itching to find out.
