TWO persons facing murder charges were nabbed at Talisay City and Himamaylan City, the police said.
The suspects were identified as Clemente Alontaga alias "Bukay," 49, a resident of Himamaylan City; and Ronald Francisco, 23, of Barangay Zone 12-A, Talisay City.
Police Inspector Fabiolo Ortiz, spokesman of the Talisay City Police, said Francisco was collared Saturday evening by a team of local policemen led by Talisay Police Chief Superintendent Leo Erwin Agpangan by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Gorgonio Ybañez, Branch 58 of Regional Trial Court Bacolod City.
Ybañez also denied Francisco's bail.
On the other hand, Alontaga was arrested at his residence in Sitio Pang-Pang, Barangay 1 Poblacion, Himamaylan City by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Ybañez and served by a team of local policemen led by SPO1 Lemuel Apalacio, together with elements of the Bacolod City Police led by PO2 Alexander Alegora.
Both suspects are presently detained at the Talisay and Himamaylan police's lock up cell.
In Bago City, Nestor Layoso, 29, of Purok Pag-asa in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City was nabbed after he was involved in a fatal road accident in Barangay Dulao, Bago City.
Police Superintendent Melchor Coronel, police chief of Bago City, said while Layoso was driving his motorcycle along the national highway in Barangay Dulao, the victim, Jona Jelizon, 26, of Purok Talutuog, Barangay Dulao, Bago, suddenly crossed the street and was bumped in the process.
He said the victim was declared dead on arrival at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City due to fatal head and body injuries.
Coronel said the suspect will be charged for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide. (MAP)
