Woman nabbed in buy-bust operation

A 33-YEAR-OLD woman was nabbed Monday morning in a buy-bust operation conducted by the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAID-SOTG) of Bacolod City Police Office.

The suspect was identified as Richelle Antonio, alias "Panie," of Purok 4, Sitio Magsungay, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.

Police Senior Inspector Joemarie Occeño, CAID-SOTG team leader, said the suspect was caught around 10 a.m. holding one improvised tooter. He was arrested when the police operatives served the search warrant issued by Judge Ma. Lorna Demonteverde against his live-in partner, George Flores.

Police also recovered one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, two disposable lighters, two plastic scoops, several empty plastic sachets and P100 in various denominations believed to be proceeds in the illegal sale of shabu.

Occeño said Flores was able to evade arrest by passing at the back door of his occupied house after handing to a police poseur-buyer one small plastic sachet containing suspected shabu in exchange for the P100 bill used as marked money in the said operation.

The operation against the suspect was also witnessed by the barangay local officials, village chief Ferdinand Odango and councilor Suplicia Distrito.

Antonio is presently detained at the lock-up cell of CAID-SOTG prior to the filing of charges against her for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while Flores is still at large.
