Neri: Philip and Marnie’s Wedding

IT TOOK a decade of exclusive dating and getting to know each other better before Philip Dy and Stephanie “Marnie” Borromeo decided to take that all important step of matrimony.

With the blessings of his mother, Amparo Vda. de Manuel Dy; and her parents, Ronald and Merle Borromeo, the young couple said their vows at the Sacred Heart Church on a lovely Saturday afternoon before Msgr. Tex Legitimas, SSJV.

THE WEDDING ENTOURAGE. From left: Rica Reyes, Paul Dy, Mabel Dy, Ignatius Borromeo, Trina Borromeo, Peter Dy, Melody Go, the couple, Candy Borromeo, Wendel Sia, Maris Chua and Gian Chua. In the foreground are the little attendants, Jilliane Chua, Kenji Go and Ryan Reyes.

Marnie was resplendent in a figure-hugging gown by Edwin Ao.

She chose plum, silver gray and turquoise for her wedding colors. The bridal attendants were in plum and that included her only sister Candice who acted as maid of honor.

The beaming ninangs were in silver gray while the secondary sponsors were in turquoise gowns. Even the wedding cake (lovingly made by the bride’s best friend Janice Escario King) echoed the color scheme.

Dapper in an intricately embroidered barong Pilipino, Philip was the typical adoring groom whose eyes were always on his bride. He had for best man his dear friend Wendel Sia.

Family bonding was the order of the evening during the reception at the Grand Ballroom of Marco Polo Plaza.

Members of the bride’s family from Camiguin, Manila and the USA all came for the happy occasion. And the groom’s relatives were very much around, too.

A beautiful celebration of love!

Go and Ryan Reyes.
