Thieves hit dormitory

THIEVES hit a dormitory at Lacson Street, Bacolod City Tuesday morning and took assorted items, the police said.

Samuel Lapu-Lapu, 27, a native of Lopez-Jaena, Sagay City Negros Occidental and temporarily residing at ILL Dormitory, 6th Street, Lacson, Bacolod City, reported to police that, at around 2 a.m., he discovered that the padlock of his locker was already open.

When he checked his personal belongings, he learned that his back pack containing his birth certificate, transcript of record, wallet with P1,500 in cash, and other important documents were already missing.

On the other hand, a 23-year-old Jonathan Miralda of 2117 Street, St. Francis Greensville, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City was arrested Monday morning by elements of Police Station 4 for violation of City Ordinance 358 or possession of bladed weapon.

Chief Inspector Danilo Francisco, PS 4 chief, said the suspect was nabbed at about 11:30 a.m. Monday along La Salle Avenue, Barangay Villamonte by elements of Bacolod Traffic Division of BCPO. The suspect is presently detained at PS 4 lock up cell.
