MANILA -- President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III has decided to form a commission that will study the amendment in Constitution.

Aquino told reporters Wednesday that he just need to fill up all government positions first before he could decide who will be composing the Cha-cha commission.

“Under the Constitution, we have a deadline for filling up all of the posts, all the appointments, three-month period. I think that will end by September. So, that has to be the priority. Then afterwards, once we have completely re-organized this government, then we can devote more attention to finding the commissioners for the commission that will study the charter change,” he said.

Aquino decided to form a commission to study possible changes in the 1987 Constitution after his predecessor now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo filed a resolution asking Congress to call a constitutional convention for the purpose of Charter change (Cha-cha). (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
