Chan has finally relinquished his post to Felix during a simple ceremony Wednesday at the 4th ID headquarters in Camp Evangelista in Patag.

In his farewell speech, Chan proudly said he had done the task mandated to him, claiming that he nurtured solidarity and cooperation with men and women and their partners in the different areas within the 4ID's area of responsibility (AOR).

"All these were done as we manifested our belief that war is not the reason why the army is important. It is peace. It is the people who yearn for this peace. These are what make the army important," Chan said.

In accepting the post, Felix said he is ready to face the challenges of his new jurisdiction. (Annabelle L. Ricalde)
