Baking, pastry-making trainings slated

THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Association of Negros Occidental Food Processors Inc. (ANOFP) will hold trainings on baking and pastry-making on September 2-3, 2010.

The activities will start at 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC) Talisay Campus, Talisay City.

Jonathan Cabiles, trainer from the Philippines Society of Baking, will be discussing the key topics on baking and pastry making, such as bakery mathematics, functions of ingredients, process and methods of bread making, among others.

For the hands on and demonstration, expected outputs or products include: pan de sal, ensaymada, Spanish bread, coffee bun, Japanese hopia, cream puff, cheese cup cake, fruit cream roll, pan de coco, Clabatta siopao, brownies, chicken empanada, egg pie, custard cake, and pineapple upside down cake.

The organizers are inviting those interested participants to attend in the training.

Participation fee is at P1,200 per person, covering meals (lunch and snacks for two days), training hand outs, and certificate.

DTI and ANOFP are also advising participants to bring apron and any hair restrain.
