MANILA -- President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III ordered fast investigation into the bus accident in Benguet that left 41 people dead.
“Faulty mechanical break is such a lame excuse. I want to study how thorough the inspections are for all of these transports,” Aquino said as he extended condolences to the family of the tragic incident.
Aquino has tasked the Land Transportation Office and Highway Patrol Group to expedite the investigation into the incident and ensure that someone will be held liable.
The President also ordered a study of the entire transport industry to find out what the government could do to improve transportation and road designs to prevent similar incidents to happen in the future. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
