Cenro worker, pal shot dead

TWO men were shot dead while they were having a drinking spree in Ma-a, Davao City Wednesday night.

The shooting incident happened near the Balot Vulcanizing Shop at Purok 38 on Diversion Road at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The victims were identified as Ranel Bargamento, 33, and an employee of the City Environment and Natural Resources (Cenro), and his friend Willy Amador, alias Wisely Amador, 44, a carpenter and resident of Maharlika Village, Barangay Maa.

SPO4 Policarpio Ballenas of Talomo police, in his spot report, indicated that the victims were drunk when they were shot dead by two men onboard a motorcycle.

Bargamento and Amador were hit in the head. The gunmen fled onboard a Yamaha DT 125 with no plate number.

Members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) found 11 empty shells of a caliber .45 gun at the crime scene.

The bodies of the victims were brought to the Angel Funeral Homes.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Director Rene Aspera told Sun.Star Superbalita they are exploring several angles to identify the suspects.

rBargamento is the latest Cenro employee who was shot dead.

Cristituto Marindoque, 35, garbage collector and resident of Purok Tinago, Barangay Matina Crossing was also shot on August 10.

Marindoque is undergoing treatment at the Southern Philippines Medical Center.

Enrique Santiago, 38, salesman of the Oliver Industrial Company and resident of St. Joseph the Worker, Purok Tinago, who was with Marindoque, died on the spot.

The two were also having a drinking spree at Campos Store, San Isidro, Purok Tinago when they were attacked.

"Hindi pa namin ma-establish ang motive ng mga suspects kaya tinitingnan namin ang personal back ground ng mga victims," Aspera said. (AD)
