MANILA -- Legacy Group of Companies owner Celso de los Angeles was turned over to the provincial jail in Ormoc City in Leyte Thursday morning where he faces multiple non-bailable plunder and syndicated estafa charges.

Villaraza Cruz Marcelo and Angangco (CVCLAW) lawyer Elmar Galacios, counsel for Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), turned over De los Angeles.

The BSP earlier filed a complaint against De los Angeles for over P480 million funds deposited to the Rural Bank of Kananga, later known as the First Interstate Bank in Leyte.

Last August 3, De los Angeles was transferred to Camp Caringal from a condominium within the St. Luke's Medical Center’s compound after an Ormoc Regional Trial Court (RTC) issued the arrest warrant against him.

Separate orders from the courts in General Santos City and Cagayan de Oro City earlier allowed De Los Angeles to stay in a hospital after being diagnosed with throat cancer.
