Health exec in Bacolod today for anti-dengue drive

DEPARTMENT of Health Secretary Enrique Ona is in Bacolod City today, Friday, for the ant-dengue projects in the city.

The health secretary will be accompanied by Bacolod City lone district Representative Anthony Golez and will be welcomed by Bacolod City Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia to the city.

Ona and Golez will arrive together in Bacolod from Manila and by 10 a.m., they will launch the anti-dengue project in Barangay Tangub.

The program will be preceded by a mass and the blessing of mosquito screens and nets for the schools. There will be a short program after the mass where Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr., Leonardia, Golez, Bacolod City Schools Superintendent Ma. Gemma Ledesma and Ona will have a short talk regarding the anti-dengue project.

This will be followed by a ceremonial installation of the mosquito nets in the school classrooms.

Ona will also visit the Western Visayas Regional Hospital to personally visit the dengue patients there.

Golez will tour him in the hospital wards as well in some of the ongoing projects of the congressional office.

Ona will also be joined by Leonardia in the anti-dengue project in Taculing.

City Health Officer Dr. Salome Biñas will also be joining the mayor, Ona and Golez. Taculing Barangay Captain Alex Diamante will welcome the health secretary and the city officials to his barangay.

Secretary Ona will also visit the Teresita L. Jalandoni Memorial Provincial Hospital in Silay City. (Carla N. Cañet)
