Aquino wants quiet time on father’s death anniversary (1:17 p.m.)

MANILA -- President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino appealed for a private time with his family as way of commemorating the death of his father Ninoy on Saturday, August 21.

Palace aide Ricky Carandang on Friday said the President will be attending a mass in the afternoon but refused to divulge the venue.

After the mass, Carandang said the President will be meeting with his relatives for a simple gathering.

“President Aquino has asked time be spent with his family. There is going to be sort of private time tomorrow (Saturday). They want to have a quiet day.”

There will also be public functions to be held to mark Ninoy’s death but it is not yet sure if the President will attend.

Palace also has not finalized yet which event will be opened for media coverage. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
