Angue's status floating (1:26 p.m.)

NATIONAL Capital Region Command chief Rear Admiral Feliciano Angue was placed in floating status as the military is investigating him for violation to code of ethics, a television report said.

In a press conference on Friday morning, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff Lt. Gen. Ricardo David said Angue violated the Articles of War.

This, when he aired his grievances over his alleged demotion through the media instead of the proper channels.

"We view such statements as bordering on insubordination and violation of AFP Code of Ethics, Article 5, Section 4.3, paragraph 4.3.12 (Unethical Acts) in the airing of grievances through tri-media, destroying the image of the AFP," AFP spokesman Jose Mabanta earlier said.

David also said that Angue was not demoted instead he was given a plum post as head of the Naval Forces Western Mindanao Command in Zamboanga.

David explained that the reorganization of appointments is part of President Benigno Aquino III's marching orders to cope reform and transform the Armed Forces. (Sunnex)
