THE much-awaited meeting up of Angelica Panganiban and Gretchen Barretto finally happened Thursday morning.
Angelica said she went to Makati at 1:30 a.m. just to fetch boyfriend Derek Ramsay but she was invited by the latter to visit the set of "Magkaribal".
“Na-surprise din ako talaga. Tapos na kasi yung taping ko then nagkausap kami ni Derek then nagpunta ako sa Makati then sabi nya 'oh baba ka dito sa set, andito si Gretch,” the actress related.
Angelica was reluctant to visit the set at first because she's just in her “pambahay” clothes and was a bit shy with Gretchen.
But when the two finally meet each other, an instant connection between them was noticed by Derek and the entire cast.
Angelica described her meeting with Gretchen as something very light and a welcome friendship.
“Para syang bata, sobrang young nung personality nya, ang sarap nyang panoorin kasi full of character and sa nakikita ko napaka positive nung character nya,” she said of Gretchen.
What is important to Angelica now is that though they started on wrong foot, they are open to start all over again.
“Hindi ako mahihirapan na magkaroon ng magandang friendship sa kanya kasi sya mismo nage-extend ng kamay para magkaayos kami.”
Angelica is very happy because she can visit Derek and Gretchen anytime on the set of "Magkaribal" now that all is well between her and the actress.
Gretchen, for her part, was also very happy to finally meet and make peace with Angelica.
“Humility is what Angelica Panganiban has taught me. I see Angelica's beauty inside and out,” she said.
Gretchen also thanked her co-star Derek for making the event possible and for her and Angelica to be friends.
“She brought a lot of joy to everyone. I am so looking forward to countless years of great friendship, fun and laughter."
It can be remembered that the two had an on-screen battle for the "playful" remarks by Gretchen while "Magkaribal" was still on its first week of airing.
The issue died down when Angelica and Derek went to South Africa for the FIFA World Cup.
But it was only two weeks ago when Angelica was emotional on "The Buzz" when she apologized to Gretchen. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
