HOST Misamis Oriental Meteors has practically two things in mind when the "Tournament of the Philippines" returns at the Xavier University gym in Cagayan de Oro Saturday.

"Of course, after the on-court brawl that marred our last hosting of the Cebu Niños, we just can't afford that same ugly incident will happen again before the home fans," one team insider, said.

For Misor coach Jun Noel, his primary goal Saturday night is to finish right away the visiting ANI-FCA Cultivators.

Seeded No. 2 behind the front-running Cebuanos, the Meteors enjoy a "twice-to-beat" advantage in their quarterfinals bout with the Cultivators.

But with the return of strongman Ronald Capati and two more "former PBA" recruits in their roster, coach Noel and the surging Meteors have no plan to extend their meeting with the ANI-FCA squad.

"Walay away unya diretso daug. Kana lang sa una atong major concerns pagbalik sa Liga Pilipinas at the XU gym, though atong primary target is to win this year's national championship," said Noel, whose Meteors finished runner-up to coach Yayoy Alcoseba and the Cebu Niños in the last season.
