A MILITANT group accused President Benigno Aquino III of backing the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) between the Philippines and United States of America, a radio report said.

Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (Pamalakaya) allegedly received a report that the President planned to send the officials of the VFA and legal escort of the Senate and Congress to maintain the said deal.

The militants said the President wants to assure Washington that he did not support Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago's bill ordering the Congress to make a resolution to scrap the VFA.

The group believed Aquino does not want to embarrass Americam especially now that he will have a trip there next month. (Sunnex)
