Food firm employee slain

CAMP OLIVAS -- An employee of a meat processing plant was gunned down by unidentified armed men riding in tandem on a motorcycle in front of his house in Barangay Balubad, Porac town.

Pampanga police director Petronio Retirado, identified the fatality as Floyd Garcia, 39, an employee of Mekeni Food Corporation (production section) and a resident of the said barangay.

Retirado said the victim, together with his wife Agnes and son Guiller, 10, have just arrived in their house on board a Delica (CTN-148) after they visited their friends in Guagua town when the shooting incident occurred on Sunday.

In his report Retirado said upon arrival, Garcia’s wife got off the vehicle to get her cellular phone inside their house.

Retirado said while his son was about to open the left sliding door of the van, the suspects who were on board a Honda motorcycle, stopped and shot the Garcia in the head.

He said that the victim died on the spot due to gunshot wounds in the head.

The suspects then fled towards the east direction. They are now the subject of a manhunt operation by the Porac police force.

Retirado has ordered for a thorough investigation on the slaying of Garcia. (Ric Sapnu)
