FOLLOWING its victory in the Milo Little Olympics, the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) hopes to extend its dominance in the 10th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) on Sept. 4, at a still to be determined venue.
The biggest obstacle in USJ-R’s bid is the powerhouse University of Southern Philippine Foundation (USPF), which has won all nine Cesafi titles.
The USJR secondary boys team is also aiming for a grand slam this year.
“It has been a while since the USJ-R secondary girls won in the Cesafi,” said head coach Roldan Potot.
He added they usually face USPF in the championship and wind up the second-best.
Potot said winning against Pajo National High School in the 15th Milo little Olympics fired up his players and gave them a huge boost going into the Cesafi.
“We will continue performing the way we did. As long as they play as a team and they maintain the same intensity, then I am confident that we will win this year,” Potot said.
