Salisi gang member collared

A MEMBER of the salisi gang was collared Wednesday morning after he victimized a public school teacher in the City of Bacolod.

The suspect was identified as Mark Anthony Arano, 21, of Silay City who is presently detained at the lock up cell of Police Station 2.

Police Station 2 deputy chief SPO4 Enriquito Gochoco identified the victim as Lolita Baylosis, 51, a school teacher of Andres Bonifacio Elementary School 1 at Sto. Nino Village, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City.

Initial investigation conducted by PO1 Christopher Profeta showed that, at about 7:10 a.m. Wednesday after Baylosis reported for work, she placed her shoulder bag on her table in the presence of her three students who are cleaning their classroom.

Baylosis had left the room for a while to talk to her colleague in the adjacent room.

Arano reportedly entered her room and told her students that he was ordered by their teacher to get her bag. When he was about to exit the room, one of the students stopped him and managed to take the bag away from him.

The student then called the attention of Baylosis, prompting the suspect to immediately flee but he was caught by CPL Noel Lobaton.

Gochoco said that they are now conducting further investigation on the background of the suspect to determine if he is also involved in other theft cases in the city. Gochoco encouraged those who were victimized by theft to visit PS 2 to ascertain whether they were victimized by the same suspect.
