Tabujara is new Noppo director

NEGROS Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon confirmed Wednesday the appointment of Senior Superintendent Primitivo Tabujara Jr. as the new director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo).

Marañon said Tabujara, who hails from Barangay Tambad in the southern town of Cauayan, was recommended by Police Chief General Jesus Verzosa to replace Senior Superintendent Manuel Felix.

Tabjara’s Negrense root is an advantage as he is fully aware of the terrain in the province, the governor added.

Tabujara’s mother, Cresenciana, is the barangay chief of Tambad, Cauayan. He is the uncle of Cauayan Mayor Johnrey Tabujara.

Tabuajara said he received his appointment from Camp Crame on August 23. His most recent assignment was with the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas after the May elections.

He finished his elementary education in Cauayan Elementary School and his secondary education at the St. Columban’s Academy, also in Cauayan. He finished his Bachelor of Science in Criminology at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos where he and Bacolod City Police Director Celestino Guara were classmates.

Prior to his assignment in the province, he was the chief of the Directorial Division of the Regional Police Office of Calabarzon and has also served as officer in-charge of the Cavite Provincial Police Office.

Tabujara had a tour of duty in Negros as Chief of Operations of the Negros Island Task Force in 1995 to 1996. He was assigned as the Battalion Commander of the First Special Action Force of the PNP-SAF and had conducted operations in the southern part of the province. Tabujara had also served as chief of the Don Salvador Benedicto PNP.

Marañon said he expected Tabujara to make the province a peaceful and livable place. He added that would no longer ask from PNP’s High Office for the list of other possible replacement of Felix as Tabujara will automatically serve in a full-pledged capacity as the new Noppo director.

PRO 6 will schedule the turnover of command from Felix to Tabujara very soon. Felix was not in the province as of press time because he attended the wake of his father.

Tabujara stated that he is very excited to serve his own province. His program includes the strengthening of the moral welfare of his personnel. He committed to focus more on crime prevention for the development of the province.

In coordination with the office of the governor, Tabujara also pledged to rigidly implement the province’s special laws and ordinances. (TED)
