THE locators at the South Road Properties (SRP) are choosing from among three Manila-based consultants to undertake the comprehensive drainage master plan in the area.
This was disclosed by Department of Engineering and Public Works (DEPW) Chief Engr. Jose Marie Poblete yesterday who, along with other Cebu City Hall officials, met with representatives of Filinvest Land Inc., SM Prime Holdings Inc. and Ayala Land Inc. yesterday.
In an interview, Poblete said the locators will decide next week on who will undertake the drainage master plan study.
“They will be agreeing on themselves who they will choose. Maybe, they will announce it next week. Once there is already an consultant, we will discuss the detail of the project and what to do next,” he said.
Poblete won’t divulge yet the names of the consultants until everything will be finalized.
FLI vice president Engr. Allan Alfon, in a separate interview yesterday, said the three consultants identified are the individual consultants of FLI, SM and Ayala.
He also won’t name them yet until everything has already been decided.
Alfon said the developers will be choosing among the three consultants based on who can give a good costing and presentation of a comprehensive drainage master plan.
Alfon said he has no idea yet on how much the study will cost.
On Friday, he said though that the developers will again meet and the consultants will already be presenting their proposals.
By Monday then, when they will meet again with City Hall representatives, Alfon said they are already expected to have made a decision.
The three locators at the SRP, together with the City, wants a drainage master plan to be formulated for the 300-hectare property to map out solutions and address the flooding.
This came after the FLI complained to the City about flooding in the area during heavy downpour.
