NIIT holds annual sports, academic festival

WITH the theme "keeping the Tradition of oneness through sports and academic engagement" The National Institute of Information Technology commemorates its 6th Annual Sports and Academic Festival 2010.

The ongoing celebration was held at the Saint Vincent gymnasium which started Aug. 24 and will end this Saturday.

Some of the breathtaking activities that will be watched are: the arnis tournament, Cheer dance competition, Board games, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Sports quizzes bee, Literally Music and skills Olympics for computer programming and trouble shooting.

School Administrator Vladimir Cayabas said they are also preparing their students for the upcoming intercollegiate competition for the Cordillera Higher Education Sports Athletic Association (CHESAA) set to open this Sept. 3 at the Easter College Gymnasium.

Cayabas added through sports they will be able to develop and tighten the bonding of teachers and their students as a single family. And also to promote camaraderie in the atmosphere of sports and academic learning

Meanwhile, Ardie Roland Arevalo, school tournament manager, said through sports and Olympics their students can develop their minds and bodies.

He added each student will be given equal opportunity to develop their talent and to give chances to other students who are not excelling to their academics. (Faisa Mariano)
