VMO bags third win, Addu, HCDC triumph

THE Vice Mayor's Office (VMO) copped its third straight win by hacking out an 87-83 win over Goldstar Wednesday night in the Mayor Sara and Vice Mayor Rody Duterte Kadayawan sa Dabaw Commercial Class B Basketball Tournament at the Davao City Recreation Center.

Greggy Delica finished with accounted for 19 points including 16 points in the final quarter as John Astudillo led scoring for VMO with 20 points. Batoy Madera made 18 while Christopher "Bong" Go added nine points.

Jonard Pinto and Kiko Pacheco sank 14 each for Goldstar.

Ishihara-Panabo routed Philhealth, 87-65, as Alan Ardenio and Edgar Awitin combined for 32. Philhealth's Leo Birondo and Eliazar "Buboy" Berami had 14 apiece.

In the Sara-Rody Kadayawan Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament, meanwhile, Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) Blue Knights and Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) Crusaders demolished their rivals.

The Cholo Elegino-coached Blue Knights routed Mats, 95-77, with the duo of Conrad Fernando and Richard Medalo exploded with 26 and 21 points, respectively.

The Crusaders sank the Agro Sailors, 93-80, through the heroics of Junard Pintoa and Levi Ochate.

Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings tamed the University of Mindanao (UM) Wildcats, 80-79, while the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Bulldogs crushed Emar, 100-89.

Both tournaments are presented by the city government of Davao and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Region 11.
