Each float was made unique depicting themes recounting Cagayan de Oro's growth and development, history, culture and its people.

Acting as judges in the competition were the officers and members of the United Architect of the Philippines (UAP) who were stationed at Kiosko Kagawasan in Divisoria and in Limketkai Center.

Among the nine entries, the float of Concentrix Corporation bagged the grand prize with P150,000 cash followed by International Pharma Inc. as 1st runner up with a corresponding prize of P100,000 and LBC as 2nd runner up with P50,000 cash prize.

The 4th Kagay-an Golden Float Parade Competition was held back-to-back with the annual civic military parade, which was participated by 19 schools and representatives of government and the non- government organizations.

Due to the huge number of participants, the parade took about four hours but some of the spectators said it was worth watching.

The drum and bugle corps of different participating schools were also recognized in the event.

The Most Disciplined drum and bugle corps went to Pilgrim Christian College while Liceo de Cagayan University bagged the Best Marching Band and the Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School got the Best in Costume. (Nicole J. Managbanag)
