CLARK FREEPORT -- A Malaysian grand prize await the champions of the 2010 Milo Junior Tennis Cup as the Air Force City Tennis Club hosts the National Finals here.

The tennis tourney reeled-off last Saturday.

Former Malaysia campaigner Christian Fel Lopez will renew his bid to make the RP-Milo team in the boy's 12 under division when the Samal, South Mindanao netter tangles with Julian Dayrit, Cenon Gonzales, Jr. and Christopher Encarnacion.

Norman Gaspar, Arthur Craig Pantino, Manuel Balce III and Jericho Painagan are the regional winners who had qualified in the unisex 10-under division after 3 months of grueling elimination in the Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and NCR regions.

In the boy's 14-under, John Jeric Accion, Marcen Gonzales, Joachim Samson and Ralph Juliane trade strokes for the top spot in the MILO netfest organized by the PSA Awardee CTW Group and supported by Gosen Strings, Mabalacat Tourism Office, Clark Development Corporation, 600th Airbase Wing Commander Gen. Dominador J. Aquino and Fontana Leisure Hotel.

Erika Manduriao, Maia Balce, Alexie Santos and Sharyl delos Santos aspire for the girls 12-under RP Milo team slot, while Khrizelle Sampaton, Elgy Dasian, Crissiane Issa Kinatanar, and Jzash Eale Canja vie for honors in the girls 14-under division.

The five national champions will compose the RP-Milo team who will compete in Malaysia starting with the Northern States Junior Tennis Circuit on December 5 to 9 in Kangar, Perlis.

The other Malaysia legs are scheduled in Selangor, Penang and Langkawi.

The Philippines has consistently brought back top honors from the Malaysia Junior Tennis Circuit since 1993 and was highlighted when the RP-Milo team won the overall championship trophy in 2007. (with reports from Chris Navarro)
