Typhoon triggers landslides in Mt. Province (12:56 p.m.)

BAGUIO -- Typhoon Glenda, which is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, has triggered minor landslides in several areas in Mountain Province Tuesday.

Among those affected are the Bontoc Road in Baguio City and Ilocos Sur Road via Kayan in Mountain Province.

Clearing operations led by the Department of Public Works and Highways are now ongoing, said radio dzBB.

Chito Castro, assistant chief for operations of the Office of Civil Defense National Disaster Coordinating Council, said no other incidents caused by the typhoon were monitored Tuesday.

The state weather bureau, however, said Typhoon Glenda is still expected to enhance the southwest monsoon and bring rains over northern and central Luzon. (Sunnex)
