A DETAINEE at the Digos City jail took his life inside his detention cell Tuesday.
The inmate was identified as Rodrigo Vargas, 50, who was accused by his wife of going amuck inside their residence in Barangay Kapatagan, Digos.
The suspect was first endorsed to the Kapatagan Community Assistance after he threatened to kill his family around 8:20 p.m. Sunday.
The Digos City Police was surprised to find Vargas with a nylon cord around his neck tied to the iron grills of his cell around 9 a.m.
Authorities brought him to the Mercado Medical where he was declared dead.
Police led by SPO3 Esdraz delos Santos are still conducting investigation of the incident. The family of Vargas is yet to issue a statement on his death. (Dondon Dinoy)
