Biometrics registration set

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Davao Region is set to hold a biometric registration at SM City Davao on July 25 and August 2.

Apple Legario, SM City public relations officer, announced this during a media forum Monday.

She said the Comelec will be holding the "No-Biometric, No-Boto Voters" Biometric Registration for those who are not sure on their biometric details.

"For those who are not sure on their biometric details whether it is updated, please book here para ma-check na nato and maka-register mo with your biometric details," Legario said.

As of April 20 Electoral Registration Board (ERB) hearing, the Comelec regional office in Davao City recorded a total of 303,873 registered voters with incomplete biometrics, of which 20.26 percent or 179,967 voters are from Davao City.

From January to June this year, the Comelec already validated a total of 43,559 voters in Davao Region, 17,042 of this are from Davao City.

Comelec-Davao has intensified its operations for the biometrics validation, which is a requirement in order to vote in the 2016 elections.

Those who fail to submit their biometrics, according to the poll body, will be deactivated from the list and will not be eligible to vote in the 2016 elections. (ICT/With reports from KGL)
