Ex-MNLF chief, wife killed

A SHOOTING incident in a town in Sultan Kudarat province killed a former commander of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and his wife Thursday.

According to a Bombo Radyo report, Pres. Quirino town police chief Celestino Daniel Jr. said the couple were flagged down by unidentified armed men and shot them.

The victims were identified as Abdullah Calapya and his wife Rayda Calapya, both residents of Barangay Sinakulay in Pres. Quirino town.

The victims died of gunshot wounds in different parts of the bodies.

Recovered in the crime area were three empty shells of M-16 armalite rifle.

Investigations are ongoing to identify the suspects and determine the motive of the incident. (Sunnex)
