Apec hosting to boost Iloilo’s investment potential

THE Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) meetings are an opportunity for Iloilo City to take advantage of the presence of international delegates in showing its potential in business and investments, said Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog.

He said the city’s hosting of Apec is a positive way to boost awareness of Iloilo as an important investment destination in the Philippines.

In his welcome dinner for the delegates Wednesday night, Mabilog said the city is allocating some 800 hectares of reclaimed lands for the interest of potential investors in retail, manufacturing, business process outsourcing, agro-processing and tourism.

The mayor reiterated a business-friendly city with incentives to new investors especially in new industrial zones.

A 400-hectare reclaimed land is currently being developed to become an industrial zone, while 400 hectares had been identified recently for the establishment of another business area.
