TWO suspected members of the New People's Army (NPA) were killed in an encounter with government troops in Zamboanga Sibugay Wednesday.
According to a radio report Thursday, the encounter took place around 6 a.m. at Purok Basakan, Barangay Alagon in Siay town.
The clash between the 53rd Infantry Battalion and around 15 NPA rebels lasted for about 20 minutes.
Report said that the military was conducting its combat patrol before the clash started.
Two rebels, a man and a woman, died in the clash. There was no reported casualty in the government side. (Sunnex)
