MANILA -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) is ready to provide security to Filipinos expected to flock to cemeteries in observance of the All Saints’ Day (November 1) and All Souls’ Day (November 2).
PNP spokesman Agrimero Cruz in an interview over government-run dzRB station warned that penalties await those who will be caught in violation of city ordinances if they insist on bringing of prohibited materials.
“Paalalahanan ang mga kababayan na wag po dalhin ito ng hindi na po sila maabala at alinsunod din sa utos ng Malacanang ay sana tumalima po ang ating mga kababayan para maging sagrado ang kanilang pagalala,” he said.
Bladed weapons, intoxicating drinks, illegal drugs, gambling materials, and appliances that would create too much noise like videoke machines are not allowed inside cemeteries.
Both the PNP and the Armed Forces of the Philippines are on full alert for Undas. (Kathrina Alvarez/Sunnex)
