MANILA -- World Boxing Organization Minimum Weight world champion Donnie "Ahas" Nietes faces Mexican fighter Armando Vasquez this Sunday.
Dubbed as "Pinoy Pride 5: Battle of Champions", the bout for a future crack at a Junior Flyweight World Championship belt will be held at La Salle Coliseum in Bacolod City.
The boxing match will also be aired on ABS-CBN Channel 2 at 10:15 a.m. and on Studio 23 at 2:00 p.m.
Nietes has 27 wins, 1 loss and 3 draws and will go against Vasquez with standing of 18-5-0.
Aside from the 28-year-old boxer, Junior Welterweight Jason Pagara (26-1-0) and undefeated Featherweight Lorenzo Villanueva (20-0-0) will also fight for the Philippine flag against Africans Deo Njiku (14-4-0) and Ramadhani Shauri (12-2-1), respectively. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
