Willie gikasuhan og child abuse sa DSWD

ANG Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) mipasang-at og reklamo kontra sa TV host nga si Willie Revillame human ang malaw-ay nga sayaw sa 6-anyos nga si Janjan Suan sa nakalabay nga Marso 12.

Gikasuhan sa DSWD si Willie og "violation of Republic Act No. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act," sa Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

Mga concerned citizens miapil sab sa pagpasang-at og kaso, sama nila Fr. Robert Reyes, Froilan Grate ug ang blogger nga si Noemi Lardizabal-Dado.

“Our decision to initiate legal proceedings is pursuant to our mandate to protect children who are victims of abuse, neglect and exploitation. It is also in response to the public clamor for government intervention regarding Mr. Revillame’s actuations toward the little boy in that unfortunate episode of Willing Willie,” sumala ni DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman sa ilang official statement.

Sa usa ka interview gibutyag ni Atty. Nancy Quimpo sa DSWD nga ang Jan-Jan incident usa ka dakong kalapasan sa RA 7610 tungod naglangkub kini sa "emotional and psychological cruelty to a child including debasement and humiliation."

Sumala ni Soliman nga ang hitabo magsilbi nga “a wake-up call for everyone” labot pagpanalipud sa katungod sa kabataan.

“Media practitioners and advertisers were compelled to re-examine their policies and practices relative to shows which involve children and youth,” pahayag sa opisyal.

Ang Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) ug Commission on Human Rights mihimo na sab og imbestigasyon sa hitabo.

Nauna na sab nga gisaway sa abogado ni Willie nga si Atty. Leonard de Vera si Sec. Soliman tungod gihusgahan na niini ang TV host bisan pa man og wala pay tino nga imbestigasyon.

“We are doing everything we can to help these children. They deserve a better quality of life and we want them to be protected. We want them to enjoy the simple joys of childhood – love, protection, acceptance. Every child is precious. They are individuals in their own right and we need to nurture them in an environment that promotes their interest,” dugang sa DSWD secretary.

Kun mapamatud-an nga sad-an si Willie mapriso og unom ngadto sa dose ka tuig.
